Emoticons

It was difficult enough to shop for Frank's birthday, so I'm already starting to worry about Christmas. He just doesn't want things, so we end up giving him things he needs. Like underwear and coffee mugs.

But since his birthday coincided with Talk Like a Pirate day, he was bound to get some kind of pirate merchandise.

Frank's new coffee mug was a little...

shocked?

If you were an emoticon, how would you look today?

/:-/ This is me, frowning, because Ernest is running extremely late. No wonder the water bill is so high.

UPDATE at 7:25: Ernest just informed me that he is not running late...he has free period first and there are no jobs this morning so he doesn't have to be there till 8:30.

Today, I spent the morning grinning, like this :D
But now I need to scurry about, pick up my mess and that of others, bake 2 pies, and prepare dinner for a guest (whom I have not seen in over 13 years). In the meantime, my children will come home from school and deposit their own things E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E. >o

Boys and the water bill. Argh!!

My kid didn't want "stuff" either. Nevertheless, his dad kept buying him presents until it became obvious that he didn't value them. Now, of course, our Christmas and birthday presents are things like "tuition" and "airline tickets" and "rent" - which he does value, very much so.

Somewhat tired and low energy. But... heading out for a gentle yoga class. That should perk me up a bit.
