Saturday PhotoHunt: Quiet

Plese join the Saturday PhotoHunt!  It's QUIET this weekend.

With two sons who are musicians, and a husband who loves cars, there's not a lot of quiet here unless I am home alone with the cats.  And I may have shared far too many cat pictures.

I searched through my archives and found a beautiful quiet spot:  Lotusland, the home of Madame Ganna Walska.

Mme. Walska was a Polish opera singer and avid gardener.  After her sixth marriage, she devoted her life to creating imaginative gardens at her estate in Montecito, California.

Tours are available February through November.  We visited one April.  There was not a lot in bloom at that time of year, but the gardens were lush and quiet.

Next weekend, they are having an auction of exotic plant specimens.

Notice a resemblance here???  (Minus the hooves.)

You can never post too many pictures of cats...our entry for this week's theme is here and it's a cat!

That's a great comparison between your son and the statue... thankfully he doesn't have hooves or your house would be extra noisy with him clomping around! The photos of the garden are beautiful. It's always nice to escape to a quiet place.

Thanks for playing at The Saturday PhotoHunt.
Those gardens are beautiful... even with the noisy cherub!

Your son does look like the statue boy! I'd love to spend a day wondering around the garden! Great photos!

I've heard of those gardens and would love to visit. Of course, that means planning a trip to your state, which I've been nudging my husband about for a while...
