False Advertising

I'm not stupid.  I know frozen food never looks like the packaging.  But it should at least be recognizable.

Here's the box.  "Choice-cut lean chunks of beef tender tails marinated and seasoned with 7 spices and extra virgin olive oil, and then charbroil grilled to juicy perfection served in a fresh pita pocket bread together with seasoned and grilled vegetables, fluffy white rice pilaf, and our secret sauce dressing."

Here's the food.  Looks like a turd, doesn't it.  And so much smaller.  They photoshopped the turd to look bigger than the pita.

Here they are together.

And to top it off, it tasted horrible.  The pita was rock hard around the edge, soggy in the middle, and the "meat" tasted like...well...what it looks like.  What a waste of $3.39.

Buyer beware.

Oh. That goes well beyond the scope of "disappointing."

Ewwww.

My office mates live on Lean Cuisine for lunch, and whenever I succumb, I am always getting suckered.

the only frozen dish that meets my expectations is Macaroni and Cheese.

A turd on rice, indeed. Blech.

When I eat frozen meals (usually the weight watchers brand), I always avoid meat. Vegetables seem to survive fairly well, as does pasta and sauce.

You are making me extra grateful that my husband has been cooking from scratch much of the past year. (However, tonight's leftover beef sitting on the plate in the kitchen has fooled me 3 times already in the past hour... I keep thinking it is a brownie and boy would THAT be a sad disappointment!)

*shudder* I hate when that happens! So far, the only frozen dinner I really love is the Smart Ones Chicken with Thai Noodles...the sauce is amazing!
