Bye mom (oh how many times is this now?)

Once again, we took the bridge to nowhere
to take Ernest to the airport
for an extended Thanksgiving break.
I feel so much safer with those suicide barriers in place.

Usually, the traditional burger is devoured upon the return trip.
This time it was different.
"Then I won't have to eat an airport lunch," he said.

He's become much more gracious about the now obligatory "Bye, Mom" picture.

Thanks, sweetie.  It means the world to me.
Enjoy Boston and New York and hug your darling from me.

Love, Mom

By the way, this is post #1300.  Wow.

Aw. It would be hard saying goodbye to such a good son.

Ah! The airport goodbyes. One of the many instinctive mom rituals that holds our society together. Glad to see you're doing your part to keep it alive.

Is that "suicide bridge" ? The one that goes over Cold Springs Tavern?

What a handsome young man!
I'm not sure you could pay me to drive on that bridge on a foggy day...
