Saucers

When Homer and Francine first arrived at our home, we didn't have any cat food dishes. So we fed them on our saucers. That seemed to work out fine, but I didn't want to accidentally break one of them. I invested in a stack from a thrift store. Of course several of them have broken by now, so it was time to replenish the stack.

One of them was made for Francine!

Tiny came with her own dishes and still uses them. We have served her once or twice on a saucer but she tended to nose the food right off the plate so it was back to the bowl for her.

My cats eat out of pink fiesta dishes that I got as a gift but were not the size and shape that I really wanted. After a few of them got nicked up, I gave them to the cats. Now it's funny to see people like my mother in law recoil when they think I'm using the "good dishes" for the cats. I'd like to think they appreciate their pink dishes. :)

Perfect!
And much sweeter than those plastic side-by-side jobs they sell at Petco.

I make cat and dog dishes for them, but Penny broke hers recently and is eating from a coffee cup I made, with a cat on it! I think she finds it funny ;)

We never fed Gwen canned food until she started on her downhill slide and needed some meds mixed in. Once you are doing the canned food thing, you need multiple dishes. We have done exactly the same thing you did --Rob has picked up various saucer-sized dishes at the thrift store. They work great :-)

Cleopatra drinks her food and water from old toddler dishes. I smile whenever I clean and fill her water dish because Tigger smiles back at me.
