Four Dozen

Ernest complained because I only made 2 dozen cookies and gave a dozen to his grandmother: "That's left us only 3 apiece!" So he took matters in hand and made 4 dozen, with no eating limits.

They don't last long.

Neither did his summer. He is leaving on the 19th. That is only a week away.

You have to spoil them before they leave again!

He'll have to make another 4 dozen to pack in his suitcase!

well then eat lots of cookies and enjoy each other until he heads back to school. Ace starts preschool this year and my Mama heart is aching a bit over that, hope yours is at peace and not too achy :)

I like how he thinks! It's been too hot to bake here, until today. I made a pumpkin pie and 2 rhubarb custard pies, which baked while we ate supper. It's been a few hours and already more than a half pie is missing.

Perhaps you will want to bake and send cookies with him when he leaves. Summer passes much too soon.
