More Scenes from Shanghai (Food and Cats)

In addition to the goose pate and the pigeon, this is the balance of the Handy's Sunday breakfast. The dumplings on the left contained soup. How can you get soup inside a dumpling? Wonders will never cease.

Sesame Chicken for dinner one evening. No feet?

I am disappointed he didn't try the ox penis.

Awww, another cat picture!

This mama cat was teaching her kittens to walk. She would pick each one up by the scruff of its neck, shake it a bit, plop it on the ground and nudge it. She did it over and over with each kitten. Handy says she was very determined. The dog was entertained by it all.

The food looks interesting.
I wonder if it's all in the translation, or, it is what it says.
I'd have to pass on some of those.

I have to remind myself that humans are very adaptive, and we will eat nearly anything to survive, and that they might not like what I choose to eat...because ICK!

Looks like you have to bring your sense of adventure when you eat there!

My friend ~P~ is from Shanghai and when we were on a girls' weekend in NYC, she took us to a restaurant in Chinatown that served those dumplings. Soooo yummy!
