Yes, I would. Facebook says my French name is Destinee Girard, which sounds like something out of a bodice-ripping romance!
And French Women Don't Get Fat.
Even though they spend more time eating:
PARIS (Reuters) – True to their reputation as leisure-loving gourmets, the French spend more time sleeping and eating than anyone else among the world's wealthy nations, according to a study published Monday. The average French person sleeps almost nine hours every night...And while more and more French people grab a bite at fast-food chains these days or wolf down a sandwich at their desk, they still spend more than two hours a day eating.
Now this sounds like a perfect life to me! But if they spend 2 hours a day EATING, how long do they spend cooking it? I spend so much time cooking, then it is scarfed up in just a few minutes.
I also saw this a few weeks ago: Do not eat anything for at least three hours before bedtime. Also, cut back on eating bacon, cheese, chocolate, ham, potatoes, tomatoes, and sausage, especially before bed. These foods contain tyramine, which inhibits neurochemicals like norepinephrine and can cause insomnia. But those sounds like foods the well-sleeping French would eat!
Just call me Destinee. It's my destiny.
And who or what would you like to be?
I love that book! In fact, I just re-read it last week.
ReplyDeleteAll the eating and sleeping sounds pretty good to me! Being that I like to cook, doesn't seem there would be a problem there either. France....here I come!
ReplyDeleteI put on five pounds when we went to France. If I lived there, I'd be huge. It's the American in me.
ReplyDeleteIdeally, I'd like to be me but skinnier. But without having to put forth any effort.
ReplyDeleteI lost weight in France because we walked so dang much. I'd love to be Veronique. Ooohlalala.
