Small Town Life: Shipping

So your son needs a new phone and of course it gets shipped to you at home (even though he put in his shipping address on the website) so you have to re-ship it to him.  You go to the Postal Annex which does Fed Ex shipping because the last time you used the UPS Store their overnight shipping took two days.

The man at the counter recognizes your name, even though you've never been there before, because your husband was in a couple days earlier getting something notarized. Then he puts in the college zip code and says, "John Doe?" No, but he's Ernest's classmate. His mom ships him a lot of things. We heard he got 12 boxes the first week.

Well, I hope the phone gets there. He still managed to call last weekend from his girlfriend's phone. That was sweet of them both.

12 BOXES! What was in that? I must wonder.

I hope Ernest's phone gets there tout suite.

That's A LOT of mail!
Hopefully your son is back with a phone and no longer inconvenienced by not having one. Cannot imagine how that would put a damper on a college kid's world!

We have a little pack-n-ship store near us that always helps me choose the best (cheapest or most secure or what-have-you) method to ship something and they are just as friendly and helpful as can be. They will often just give me a box or bubble wrap! Love these folks! Shop local!

maybe one day I will get a cell phone too....but our 1936 rotary dial phone will still be treasured :)

that is a great picture for this post! While I love looking at your photos (those moon ones back there were so beautiful!) this graphic made me grin.

I ended up going to college close to home (never would have predicted that!)so I rarely got packages of any kind. I DID get to come home for dinners occasionally if I wanted ;)
