One of the coolest art shows I've ever seen happened because a man was a metal hoarder in a small town in Wisconsin. (actually on a small island) The city was making him clean up his hugely messy property when some artists got the idea to haul it all into town and throw a sculpting show. It was such a success that it went on annually for several years. I always think of that when I see all the stuff at the dump/transfer station.
