1000

I searched for inspiration for my 1000th blog post.  Google Images came up with a "personal result," which is perfect.  Thank you to Jodi of daybook: a keeping of days for allowing me to share her beautiful photo.

1,000 Cranes © Jodi Anderson

The legend of the 1000 cranes has been told many times by better writers than me.  Folding 1000 paper cranes is said to grant the folder a wish.

Cranes at Hiroshima, photo by Frank, July 2008

Cranes at the Steinbeck Center, photos by me 2009.

I may not have folded 1000 cranes, but I might have folded 1000 origami somethings over the years. But can I think of a wish?  Oh, there are the big ones like world peace, kindness, politicians staying out of my uterus, that sort of thing.  There are the little ones like I wish Ernest would clean his room.  (Fat chance that's going to happen.  I'm going to attack it when he is gone next week.)

What's your wish, big or little?  One lucky wisher will get a batch of Frank's Famous Cookies!

I'm wishing for another big snowfall before winter is over.

And I'll join you in the wish to keep politicians out of our ladyparts.

Love that Jodi's cranes came up in your google search! :)

Wow at the Steinbeck Center photos! Those are beautiful.

I'm still looking for just the right frame for the drawing that you sent me, because I've been so wanting to show it off online. It's been propped up in my studio since arriving. :)

Happy 1000th - popped in from Derfwad Manor, where I have been reading your comments for awhile now. As for my wish - I wish politicians would get sensible - in your place and mine (Canada). So far, the Canadians have stayed away from uteruses (uteri???), but they would like to be able to have access to (without a warrant) internet communications of just about anyone. Can we say "Big Brother is watching?"

Is this is wish or a hope?

Several of my students have job interviews this week and I wish one (or all) will get a job.

Those cranes are all gorgeous.

Congrats on 1,000!

I came back to see you again after seeing your comment over at The Manor and am ashamed to note that I failed to wish you a happy 1000!
So, not to put me in twice, but simply HAPPY ONE THOUSANDTH POST!

1000? Ace! Does this mean you get 10 telegrams from The Queen?

Loving the idea of 1000 cranes. Loving more that a Derf post about it got linked in with a Derf picture and a Derf's town. Slowly but surely ladies and Gary we are putting our world domination strategy into play.
