Winnie the Pooh: Christopher Robin! I think it would help with this deception if you would just kind of open your umbrella and say, "Tut-tut, it looks like rain."
Christopher Robin: Tut-tut, it looks like rain. Tut-tut, it looks like rain.

Well, Tut-tut, it looks like a tiny sprinkle of much desperately needed rain here, but the Girl Scouts were WIMPS, wimps I tell you and did not show up where their cookie tracker said they would be, even thought they would have been under a roof.  I am so disappointed.

Cookie Tracking

My husband told his sister how handy I was with the iPhone. "He said you could find anything!" she told me. Apparently so. I tracked down Girl Scout Cookies in less than 30 seconds. He's still looking for them.

We had a cookie crisis!  An extremely shy young scout, accompanied by her mother, came by our house. Of course I placed an order. Alas, I was not home when my order arrived. I got something else instead of the Thin Mints. Trauma!  Heartbreak!  And I have no way of finding the shy scout. (There is the tiniest of possibilities that I might have written my order in the wrong column, but I doubt it.)

We're eating those wrong cookies anyway because I support the Girl Scouts. And especially the shy ones.  (Don't get me started on those fickle Boy Scouts who sell me a wreath one year and disappear the next.) (or on anything political about either group).

But still....  The longing for Thin Mints grows and grows.

Enter the Cookie Tracker which quickly told me I could find them in front of the local family-owned grocery store tomorrow at 3:30.

At the end of the time it took me to compose and proofread this message, Handy finally found the cookie info.

I rest my case.

Snow Week

"Hogwarts" releases their wizarding students for the week following President's Day. They call it Ski Week. While Ernest hikes, bikes, backpacks and climbs, he has not yet taken up the snowier sports.

He did go to the snow, but to the opposite coast.

Someone in the house loves to chew ice.

Not only do I hear the crunch crunch crunch
but also the grind grind grind of the ice dispenser.

I googled "ice chewing annoying"
and found out I was not alone in being annoyed.

Did you know that the compulsion to chew ice,
or pagophagia,
can be a sign of iron deficiency?
Neither did I.

I thought I'd get a break over the winter.
Alas, much of our winter has been a heat wave.

I'm sure it could be worse.
Tell me something that drives YOU crazy!

Inside Outside

Well, yes, more cat pictures.

Francine is an inside cat. She came to us that way, and she is so skittish we'd never find her if she went out. But she does like to sit in the window and sniff the warm air.

And here she is from the other direction.

Another cat in the neighborhood was enjoying the warm sunshine.  I walk by this window often, noting the two baskets so perfectly placed, but this is the first time I have seen a cat in one!

You probably hate me because I used the word warm twice.   But we have no rain.  My lawn is not going to be green much longer. That's the only little patch that still was green.  I think we're allowed to water a little in the evenings. Also I just heard we can't even wash cars in the driveway.  Handy Husband is going to suffer over that.

How Dare I!

Oh, my crazy kids. I ask for pretty poses and this is what I get.

I seem to have taking an inadvertent little blog break. Nothing's wrong, I just never got around to it.

UPDATE:  I found one more crazy picture:
