Peach Week 1

In recent years, Peach Week has been a bust, but this year, it's back, baby!

I started the week with Peach Salsa atop grilled salmon on a spinach salad.

Peach Muffins. This recipe works well with many kinds of fruit. I’ll add a link soon.

As always, a Peach Cobbler.

Peach Panzanella Salad. No recipe, I winged it

Peach Toast.

Peach Margarita.

I should have another batch of peachy creations soon.

Cat Bathroom

This IS the birthplace of the Online Gallery of American Vernacular Cat Art.

I did a refreshing last year. A couple pieces went on exhibit at Frank’s house and some new ones were installed.

Bee Bathroom

At some point after the kids were grown and flown, I redecorated the upstairs bathroom with my bee collection.

(I spy a tiny Ernest in his bee costume.)

Charley Harper bees, which I originally made for a bookstore window.

Here’s a bathroom flashback:

New House

Well, for the mail! We modified an Amish-made mailbox purchased online. Handy made the stork and I painted the cats.

Birthday

I had one of those milestone birthdays a couple weeks ago. You know the one where you go on medicare?

So I threw myself a self-catered party, using all my pretty dishes and silverware. Yes, actual people attended.

As did Frank and Ernest!

I made all the food because I had a vision. However I was able to delegate (cheese and meat plating by Ernest and his girlfriend, Frank’s Famous Chocolate Chip cookies by Frank).

There were also tea sandwich fixings which I forgot to photograph.

Easter Crafts

My easter tree.  Frank painted the cat egg this year.

The cat cards are for my boys, of course

I painted these years ago when Ernest was little (the dude is 29 today!). The skirted rabbit is a copy of a catalog photo of a hooked rug. Thanks to the recent magic of google image search, I can credit the original artist Kelly B. Rightsell. I thought it needed a companion, with carrots of course, so I also made the jeaned rabbit. They’ve been tucked away for 20+ years but I thought they’d be fun to have out for Easter.

Valentine

I made a few cards.

I had a lot of pink ornaments, so I made a Valentine's tree.  I really enjoyed having it.

I think I'll do an Easter tree next, with the family-made easter eggs.
