Crises Averted

First one: Yesterday afternoon Ernest realized he had a paper due Monday. Today, not next week. He needed a book as a reference, in addition to the internet. Guess what: our library is not open on Sundays. What to do? Fortunately, our Beloved Niece works at the local bookstore. She was able to point him to an appropriate book. The topic of the paper is "your dream career" and his is to be an architect. The book, On Architecture, looks interesting so I'll probably read it when or if I get through my massive stack of library books.

Second one: the refrigerator started heating up again, right before bedtime. We have no idea why. I unplugged it for a while...that seemed to restart it OK and it was fine this morning.

So how was your Sunday?

What would children do without their mothers??

I didn't actually do anything for him, except to say "ride your bike to the bookstore and take the credit card."

Ah, the last-minute project panic! I'm very familiar with that. My eldest daughter is always "remembering" an assignment is due.

We've been in school project hell lately, so I understand completely.

We had a similar situation. I realized that Laura's book report had to be on a book from a particular list provided by the teacher. Off to the bookstore. Thankfully, it isn't due until next week and she's a fast reader. But still.

An architect? Wow. I can barely spell that. Did I do it right?

Sweet.

Sadly, we are all too familiar with the "It's Due TOMORROW" panic!

My Sunday was spent with yet another migraine, and Boy was coming down with a nasty chest cold. It was really fun at our house.
Glad he got his report done in time!

I'm so over waiting until the last minute. I'm just about at the "take an F" point.
