Over or Under: In Which I End the Debate Once and For All
The experience on my road trip has put to rest the age-old question of whether the toilet paper should go over or under.
Out of the COUNTLESS restrooms I encountered, only THREE had the paper under. Hotels, restaurants, gas stations, rest stops, attractions: all the rest, if they had paper on a roll, had the paper over.
You can bet that I fixed those 3.
Case closed.
Footnote: There was an astonishing LACK of SEAT COVERS throughout the country, until I got back into California. I think I encountered only one or two restrooms with paper seat covers.

Yes.
I don't think I've ever encountered a public toilet with disposable seat-covers. California is way ahead of the curve :-)
AGREED. It's unanimous. Also, I may or may not travel with a purse pack of disposable seat covers (check the Rite-Aid or CVS travel-size bins for them). :-)
I've been known to fix the TP roll in my MIL's bathroom. I "get" you.
OVER. Of course. The other way is just unnatural.
I am TP dyslexic, I have NO idea which way the TP goes, but my wife is passionate about it....
No controversy. OVER!
Over just makes sense. I believe I have read the paper covers are not actually very useful, but if you've grown up in California, you are used to them.
