When I Grow Up...

I want to be THIS big!

(Photo borrowed from somewhere online.)

That doesn't appear to be a full-sized person holding that cat, but still. That's how big Hunter wants to be.

He is so eager to go outside. We were hoping to introduce him gradually, after the 6 weeks indoors the shelter insisted on.

Yesterday he snuck out on his own (twice!) and was so proud of himself.

Our babies, they grow up so fast.

Sigh.

It's funny to watch our three new kittens. The two Siamese were found as infants (week old or so?) in a box, and so never really experienced the outside world. The slightly older kitten, Grayce, was a stray. Grayce sits at the sliding glass door, absolutely mesmerized by the birds, while the two Siamese don't even notice them! They'll all have the chance to go out once spring comes around again :-)

It's funny, the difference between indoor and outdoor cats -- even the same cat! Cleo was a stray and we kept her indoors that entire first winter. We felt confident that she liked us when she finally went out in the spring. She would go outside year-round after that.
Now that she is 12, she is less inclined to go outside in nice weather and Not At All inclined to go outside in winter. Granted, some of that is because the dog hangs out in the backyard.
