Direct Relief International

Another good and safe place to donate --

Direct Relief International, located down the street from the Handy Husband's office, provides medical supplies all over the world and is rated by Forbes magazine as 99% efficient in fundraising. They have already made emergency shipments to Haiti.

I have donated to DRI, Red Cross, QIFD, and Doctors Without Borders.

Not really knowing what to do from over here, I donated to the Red Cross directly on their site. I'll also make an extra large order in a month or so to UNICEF, as I usually order from them knowing that money goes to help.
Thanks for putting down the links...

I've donated to Mercy Corps and Doctors Without Borders. Thank goodness there are so many reputable organizations where you know your money will actually be applied to the cause. It's a horrific scene in Haiti, isn't it? I've spent the weekend feeling overwhelmed by it. Those poor, poor families.
