Smoke

Satellite view of the smoke from the La Brea fire. That smoke has been hanging over us for days, causing an eerie yellow light. Finally today, it's relatively clear. Maybe we can wash the ash off the cars soon.

We have fires here, but nothing like that. The eeriness would get to me after a bit, I think. Or maybe one just gets used to it.

That sounds too close for comfort! Hope things die down soon, fire season is nerve wracking on the west coast.
