I decided to support locality and ordered the wreath.
But how to decorate it? Because as you recall, I just can't bring myself to hang up a plain wreath.
In 2008, the discarded Star Wars toys called me.
In 2009, the previous boy scout forgot to call me, so I had no wreath. I think I bought a wreath elsewhere the next year, the year of my "recession" decorating.
Last year I got a new boy scout! He's a sweet, kind boy. I've known him since first grade. His sister is in Ernest's grade. I went a little more traditional.

But this year....what to do? Well, there is another pile of discarded toys beckoning me. I've also experimented with some paper creations. You'll just have to wait until the Holiday Homes tour to see what I come up with.

Go shiny!
I have avoided this whole dilemma by buying a wreath made of bells. Mid-size brass bells, not the little silver jingle bell things. I like it, and I don't have to keep paying too much $ at the local grocery store for a few boughs of pine. (We seem to be missing the boyscout thing out here in the boonies.)
I totally thought the starwars toys were little angels... I can't wait til Monday when I get my new spectacles....
OH! I had forgotten those awesome little paper heart baskets!!!!!
I loved last year's wreath, but I am excitedly looking at the Star Wars theme and wishing I'd thought of it! Awesome. Just awesome!
I am now excited for the sight of your wreath at the HHT this year. :)
And this reminds me that I need to do something with the nearly-bare wreath we purchased from a community children's choir fundraiser. Hmmmm....
Looking forward to this year's inspiration!!
I love the traditional version--you know I love the Scandinavian paper hearts.
Don't forget to update!
