I was looking through my old photo albums for other things and came across this picture. I think it's 1971. Sixth grade was my year of the purple glasses.
What struck me about this photo, besides my awesome rocking purple glasses, is that my dad's cat Kit Catson (he let me name the cat) looked a lot like my Homer! Although Kit had the better tail. Homer has tail envy and often tucks his meager tail under his luscious body.
I really hadn't connected the two until now.
(This is a photo of the photo from my phone. I'll scan it later and update the post.)
The rockin' purple glasses deserve a post of their own!

I love how this pic informed you of the cat connection. I'm thinking Homer will get a little extra TLC for that!
Oh, the purple glasses reminded me of a pair I wore as a kid. It's funny how different stuffed animals were then too!

wow, what a tail! You remind me a bit of Shelley Duval in this shot :-)
I love this pic - and the kitty connection.
What strikes me is the tree. Why is it that real trees with tinsel suddenly seem so old fashioned? They were hip! We were hip!
Love it!
What's going on the background? It's definitely a 70s vibe all around. I wore John Lennon glasses in 1975.
What a gorgeous cat! Did Kit Carson have a personality like Homer's?
And TINSEL on the tree. And a nightgown. I had one that looked very similar. What a great trip down memory lane.
