In Which I Gracefully Avoid Humiliation

I was happily Zumba-ing the other day when I felt a pressure on my lower back.  Silly me, I thought it was a sore spot from lying on an itty bitty ball during remedial relaxation yoga the day before.  (Look at me, talking like I'm an active person.  Ha!)

During a break between songs I put my hand on the spot and there was a lump.  Surreptitiously, I eased my hand down inside the back of my pants and found a wad of paper.  Egad!  You know what kind of paper.  Thank my lucky stars it was dry!  And not hanging out like in my cartoon.

There was no one behind me so I palmed it, then gracefully turned to the cubbyholes while keeping my hand out of view, stuffed it in my purse, and took a drink of water to cover myself.

So tell me, have you saved yourselves from embarrassment lately?

I discovered a wad of "paper" in my upper pants leg during an office meeting. (I could tell right away it wasn't a sock.) Afraid it would fall out when I got up to leave, I surreptitiously inched it from my inseam, over the front of my thigh, to a spot under my scrub pocket where I could hold it as I made my break-time escape to the restroom. Crisis averted, but just barely.

Lillie (my daughter that lived in Chicago for a time) told me about feeling a pair of yesterday's panties drop out of her pants leg onto the train platform but being too embarrassed to retrieve them. As she was boarding she overheard two teenagers snicker at the forlorn little garment as they exited the train. Lillie said they were really cute panties, too.

Oh your pictures are so awesome!
That would be embarrassing to discover. Let me see...I embarrassed myself the other night at karate when I realized my youngest kid's stars were sewn on the inside of his pants leg instead of the outside--yes, he's the youngest of 4 people doing karate at my house and I've sewn on everyone else's stars properly. Everyone laughed at his pants and I confessed to maybe drinking wine when I sewed them on wrong. Though I still can't imagine HOW I screwed it up!

Whoops!

I know I've done plenty of embarrassing things, but recently wearing inside out clothing out in public is as bad as it gets.

I'm not very graceful, but I'm good at forgetting things. We'll just leave it at that, shall we?

You definitely have skill when it comes to drawing!

Well, the boiling soup incident at Vons was embarrassing!
