It's Funny How Things Work

Can someone explain to me why I have two teenage sons yet I am the one with pimples on my chin?

Why did my cat become addicted to turkey lunch meat, then inexplicably refuse to eat it?

And why, when I was perfectly happy to be laid off, did I not only get rehired but now have come across two other possible jobs? -- accounts payable at my husband's office, and administrative assistant at a local museum. (I am inclined to keep my status quo because I do love my summer vacations.)

So what's strange in your life lately?

My job is stressing me out so much that I'm considering looking elsewhere.

Otherwise, we're just getting into the groove with the new school year.

NEITHER OF YOUR SONS HAVE PIMPLES? I've had them since I was 12. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but ever-present.

Summer vacation is the best, and especially since you have kids. Even older kids need you sometimes. But that museum job would be tempting to me.

My older son had just a few pimples in high school. Ernest hasn't had any yet. Heredity. I always had good skin, that's why it is weird for me to have 2 right now at age 49. Clogged pores from a summer full of sunscreen, I think!

I never had zits as a teenager. I have a section to the left of my mouth that I call my stress-o-meter. It's very annoying.

I've been breaking out like crazy lately. I'm just glad no one told my thirteen year old self that I'd still be dealing with this at 38 because my beacon of hope in those days was that some day I'd outgrow this!

I get the first two, just move those pimples to the cheek and the turkey to roast beef.

When it rains it pours in the employment department.

What's strange in my life is being hit by a car then finding myself under it. It's hot under there!
