I'm in awe of Ernest most of the time, but especially this week. First week of school, a whole new environment, 90 degree weather, and he's out there running. Literally.
He's required to do a sport -- he picked cross-country. Since the rest of us in the household are non-athletic slugs, we are quite impressed. (He says it will help his cycling.)
So the point of this title? Is not just a milestone in his education. HE'S RUN OVER 4 MILES EVERY DAY THIS WEEK. IN THE HEAT...
Run for the stars, Ernest.

He had a little relief today -- they went in the pool afterwards!
In order to bypass PE, somehow the Siberia of school, our kids have to be on a team... and man, I pity those cross country kids... I just want to offer them a ride!
Wow! I am impressed.
And yes, running will help his biking and vice versa. A lot of runners cross train that way, myself included.
i could never understand people who ran. i had absolutely nada in common with them and thought they were pretty close to crazy....guess i'll have to change that way of thinking...you know....to be nice.
Run Ernest, Run!!
Cross-country runners are a different breed--I know, I married one.
The great thing about running is you can do it for life and you can do it anywhere--it's a great thing.
Do you make him do a sport or does the school?
