Premium is now over $5/gallon in my small town. If I drive 3 miles to the small town next to the freeway, it is around $4.75.

Here petrol is £1.99 per litre, as a result of striking drivers of petrol lorries - and that's if you can find any - I think that's about $18 a gallon!!!!!

Holy freaking crap! Gas is so cheap here, relatively speaking. It's about an entire dollar less per gallon than it is where you live.
Ouch is right.
As for Hen's comment, we paid $8/gallon when we were there in April and I think the conversion now puts it at $10-11/gallon.
Let's hope you're not a trend setter on this one! We are at $4.08 for regular unleaded.
Ouch is right! I think that bike I recently bought may come in very handy!
